You Don't Have To Be Gay Anymore....

University of Illinois researchers have discovered a neurotransmitter drug therapy that, in homosexual mutant fruit flies, can change sexual orientation within hours of administration by altering how the flies perceive pheromones.

Based on work on “Genderblind” (GB) fly mutants, the researchers found that BG males no longer perceive male pheromones as repulsive and would attempt to mate with other males. They reasoned that this response had a basis in neurotransmitter levels.

They discovered that orientation is related to synapse strength, how strongly nerve cells respond to electrical impulses, and that by altering neurotransmitter levels in the synapses they were able to switch which gender pathway the flies would use.

lmao, as members at b*xden.com said, this reminds me of X-Men 3!!! Is being gay a disease? Should it be cured? There are some "gay" folks out there who wish they could be straight, should we help them out..........sure, why not?

More importantly, how the heck do you know if a fruit fly is gay? We pay people to study the sexual orientation of fruit flies? Animals aren't gay......or are they? I've never seen two male animals fuck, but maybe I should google that before I speak on it.

I don't understand gay people "wanting to be straight" I mean it is their choice to be gay, I don't believe in being born gay. So in my opinion it's not a disease.
I never thought animals were smart enough to have a certain sexual preference, I've seen male dogs try to go at other male dogs but I don't think their gay.
